Other Mods

This section is about mods that are either compatible with GIP, or are co-working with the GIP Team. Since we can’t use all our time looking through all the various mods available, it would be of great help to us, if our users could help keep us updated on this matter. So if you notice any mod that are either using our stuff or is compatible with GIP, please let us know.

CO-WORK MODS:

The C.O.R.E Mod:
Description:
The C.O.R.E. mod aims to expand heavily upon the regular HoI:DD game, creating a more challenging and realistic game for any player. As such the tech trees and unit models have seen a complete overhaul and have been massively expanded, forcing specialization true to reality. Furthermore C.O.R.E. includes realistic, ahistoric alternate outcomes to many major events, as well as a massive amount of regular and flavour events. Our goal isn’t to ‘just’ recreate history, but to take command and experience the delicate political and military setup of the era. Be warned though, as C.O.R.E. is highly addictive!

Co-work:
The C.O.R.E. team is highly pleased with its cooperation deal with the GIP team. As such both teams can include each other’s work within their own mod, making their respective mods even better. Furthermore C.O.R.E. will include its own ‘CORE in color’ add-on, which will upgrade your regular C.O.R.E. game to the awe-inspiring experience GIP has brought to the HoI:DD society. As such we aim to support color alternates for the new COREd techs and models, which enables GIP fans to use their favorite graphic expansion pack for the best mod in town as well, despite the massive differences between C.O.R.E. and regular HoI:DD.

The Compendium Mod:
Description:
The Compendium MOD is a stand alone installation. It is based on work for the TRP 0.9 with elements from other mods, like GIP 0.6, CORE2 (Naval Doctrines), Naval MOD, CCIP. Events for Cold War until mid-60’s will be supported (the No-Time-Limit mod is required for this).

Co-work:
The Compendium Mod is free to use any GIP graphics as long as the GIP Team is given credit for it’s work.

The Epsilon Project:
Description:
The Epsilon Project is a major mode for HOI2 Doomsday; at its core is an interwoven rebalance of units, AI, and technologies designed to enhance the player’s WW2 experience in both single and multi-player matches. The emphasis is on player control within a plausible storyline of WW2 as-you-make-it, rather than pushing for hard-core historicity or trying to replicate actual numbers.

From the author of the mod: “One of the first things any player of Epsilon will notice is the careful attention to overall appearance – the mod looks “clean”. A major reason it does is that the graphics are GIP-enhanced. Terrain pictures, battle screens, the minimap, and a whole lot more come from GIP versions 0.5 and later. So important is GIP to Epsilon, and so crippled would the interface enhancements be without it, that GIP material is included in the basic, core release, the one all players get. The only reaon Epsilon doesn’t use even more is download size. The Epsilon maintainer wants to personally express his gratitude to the GIP team for doing professional-quality work it would be impossible – not merely difficult but downright impossible – for him to do himself.”

The Road to Doom’s Day:
Description:
The Road to Doom’s Day Project is a major mode for HOI2 Darkest Hour; at its core is an mod that tries to give a play more time to play as it goes to 1999. With new decisions, tech and events to help keep the player going. Uses elements from Compendium Mod a a foundation, with the Naval beta, HSR and the HSR Add-on strongly present along with various other sources.

COMPATIBLE MODS:

Historical Stony Road Mod:
Level of compatibility:
The HSR mod is 99% compatible with GIP. There is only a slight problem with a few HSR specific units getting wrong pictures. This will not cause serious problems, no Crash-To-Desktop, only a few odd pics for some unit types.

Total Realism Project:
Level of compatibility:
GIP works with TRP0.91 as long as it is installed first, then TRP after, so that the TRP images are put in and replace some of the GIP pictures.
